...a priceless delight in God's presence

"Our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting;
then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad!" Psalms 126:2,3

Sewalong, Part 3: Assembling the Muff

Good morning, all! Ready to finish up your muffs? Just as a quick review, at this point in the sewalong, you should already have all of your pieces cut out and your pocket assembled. If you've missed any of the previous days, just click on the links to take you back:

Alright, on to business! Today's goal is to assemble (and finish!) your muff. Let's start!
Seam Allowance is 1/2" for this project.
Take out your muff pieces. At this stage, you should only have 3 pieces left; your fur, batting, and lining (with the pocket attached):
Layer the lining on top of the batting, with the right side of the lining facing up. Pin in place; baste.
Right sides together, layer fur and lining; pin in place. Stitch the long sides only.
 On the left is a view from the lining side. On the right, a view from the fur side. Your fur will be 1" larger than your lining at this point, so the fur side will buckle up a bit.
Now turn the whole thing right side out.
 Again, showing a view of the muff, this time right side out. The satin lining on the left, fur on the right.
Now fold the fur in half, right sides together, aligning the short ends and forming a tube. Stitch the short ends together, making sure not to catch in the lining.
Once that's sewn, neatly slipstitch the lining by hand.
Turn right side out.
And that's it! Do a jig! Sing out loud! Jump for joy, because you've just completed the Sewalong!

If you (or somebody you know) participated, please, please, PLEASE send in a photo of your handiwork! I would love to see all of the wonderful creations you've come up with.

So... what's next? Never fear: the sewalong might be over, but the fun's just beginning! For instance, what does one do with the leftover materials from this project? Well, there are two options;
1) Let them all just sit in your sewing stash, waiting for inspiration to strike,
2) Make them into something wonderful now!
